Coach Slavko Matic Secures First Win For Hearts Of Oak

Coach Slavko Matic secured his first win for his new club, Accra Hearts of Oak, in the Betpawa League.

The Phobians also recorded their first win of the season.

It was a magnificent fightback for the Accra-based team as they came from behind to beat Bibiani Gold Stars 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium in match week four of the Ghana Premier League.

Prince Kwabena Owusu scored a brilliant goal to give the Gold Stars the lead in the 10thminute.

The miners dominated possessions and nearly scored a second goal a few minutes later.

Kwadwo Obeng Junior nearly got the equalizer for Hearts of Oak in the 37th minute but his effort was denied by the woodwork.

The away side won the first half leading the tie by 1-0.

The visitors’ captain Godfred Kyei was substituted by Frank Amankwah after picking up an injury in the second half.

The Bibiani Gold Stars men were reduced to 10 after goalkeeper Joseph Baah was penalised with a red card for an assault on Phobia’s Yassan Outchaing.

Substitute Isaac Mensah got the equalizer for Hearts of Oak in the 78th minute from a beautiful round of play.

Gladson Awako scored the match-winner from a free kick to secure three points for Hearts of Oak.

An effort by Prince Owusu to get an equalizer for the visitors at the Accra Sports Stadium became null as his target hit the woodwork.

Slavko Matic has been given the mandate to win the Betpawa Premier League by the management of the club.

It was a splendid joy for the Phobian fans at the Accra Sports Stadium after an important win.
