A moving Yutong branded bus carrying 45 passengers has exploded leading it to ashes at Assin Kyekyewere.
The bus burnt together with thousands of properties belonging to the passengers including laptops, and mobile phones among others. All passengers on board the vehicle however escaped unhurt.
The Yutong vehicle with registration number GT 5333-20 was conveying passengers with their belongings from Takoradi to Kumasi when the incident occurred at Kyekyewere, a community in the Assin South in the Central Region.
According to accounts by the driver and passengers who were on board the bus, they reportedly sniffed the scent of smoke and suspected it was coming from the bus.
The driver reportedly then stopped and asked passengers on board to come down and allow him to examine what was wrong.
