The 2022 Afrochella Celebrations display of mixed culture and the vibrant work of African creatives have gotten internet users talking and expressing their sympathetic feelings towards the event.
The music festival Afrochella began with Day 1 of the concert on December 28, 2022, at the El Wak Sports Stadium witnessing thousands of celebrants crowding the venue to celebrate Ghanaian arts and culture.
Day 1 of the event was to witness the magnificent performance of recent BET Award Winner, Burnaboy, but, a swap was made to pave way for the GOAT of the Ghana Music Industry, Shatta Wale, to perform after he had a late call from the aspiring Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Hon Kennedy Agyapong according to a Yen News report.
During the controversial artist’s performance at the El Wak Sports Stadium, He humbly requested the Assin Fosu Member Of Parliament (MP) to join him on stage. Amidst the Ghanaian Politician’s settlement on stage, some fans started yelling ‘we don’t want campaign’.
”We don’t want any campaign…..oo…you are campaigning………”, Afrochella Fans yelled.
Meanwhile, the hardworking MP was not there for campaign reasons but rather wished fans a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year. He also advised Ghanaians to push African culture and tourism further.
”Good morning to you all…I am not here to …….., I am only here to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year…….You should all have fun… When you go home invite your friends to come to Ghana to push Ghana’s tourism………,” Hon Kennedy Agyapong stated.
Hon Kennedy Agyapong is one of the potential flagbearers amongst Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyeremanteng. Meanwhile, the Veep is one of the party’s favourites to lead the flagbearaship position to victory come the 2024 Elections in breaking the 8.
In addition, Shatta Wale termed the call as honourable and glorious and indicated that he respects him so much that he could not afford to say no to him. He noted that he heeded his plight because he is patriotic and he loves his country such that he would do anything for Ghanaians.
