A 81-year-old woman has narrated the ordeal she went through after she was raped by her grand nephew who was staying with her in their home when he had nowhere to stay.
According to the woman, her grand nephew ie her brother’s grandson by the name Jewell Powell, 36, on May 5 pounced on her after allowing her stay in her home because she saw her as her favourite grand nephew.
Narrating what actually happened she revealed that she was in her room one day watching her television when she saw her grandchild standing in front of her naked and bragging her to the bed where he forced himself on her.
“I was in my bedroom watching TV. I got up to go to the kitchen. He was there naked. He grabbed me,” she recalled.
she further revealed that Powell threatend to kill her after she tried to kick him and escape from been raped .
“When I kicked him, he put me back on the bed, put his hands on my throat and said, ‘Next time you do that I’ll smother you,’” she said.
She later revealed the incident to her grandson and daughter who reported him to police.
Powell was arrested two days later and has been held at Rikers Island on $70,000 bail since.
