Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has issued a strong challenge to Lands Minister Samuel Abu Jinapor, following the Minister’s denial of allegations that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is selling state lands to insiders.
In a press conference on August 14, Jinapor rejected Ablakwa’s claims, asserting that the government is not involved in such actions.
In response, Ablakwa held a counter press conference in Parliament, accusing the government of complicity in the alleged sale of public lands.
He highlighted the government’s failure to comply with Parliament’s directive to compile a list of all public lands—a task requested over two years ago.
According to Ablakwa, the Lands Ministry’s inability to provide the list is a clear sign that it is not fulfilling its constitutional duties.
The North Tongu MP further vowed that the government would be compelled to publish the complete list of state lands by the end of the year, ensuring transparency in the handling of public resources.
