President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) candidates for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
On Thursday, July 4, the National Council of the NPP confirmed Dr. Opoku Prempeh, known affectionately as Napo, as Bawumia’s running mate.
In his endorsement, President Akufo-Addo described the pair as an “excellent ticket,” expressing confidence in their ability to secure victory for the NPP.
He highlighted the leadership qualities and strengths of both Bawumia and Opoku Prempeh, emphasizing their readiness to lead the party and the nation.
“The National Council has endorsed the nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to be the running mate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. The NPP has an excellent ticket, and we’re going to win with this ticket on 7th December 2024. The feeling is good, they make a very good pair, and they are going to win,” President Akufo-Addo stated.
This endorsement underscores the party’s strategic positioning and optimism as they head into the electoral campaign season, with President Akufo-Addo’s support bolstering the confidence of NPP members and supporters nationwide.
