Ernest Atta Kyei, a 38-year-old Headteacher, allegedly left a suicide note before his wedding in Apaaso, Adwira Sekyeredumase Municipality. He hanged himself in his room with a sponge around 9 pm on August 1, 2023. Traces of possible poison were found at the scene.
The suicide note read, “I can no longer live on this earth any longer. Don’t blame anyone. Take care of my son for me, this is my father’s number.”
Ernest Atta Kyei was the head teacher at Apaaso Basic School in the Ashanti Region.
The reason behind his decision to take his life just days before his wedding remains unknown. A colleague teacher mentioned that he had a problem but didn’t disclose details. He also shared that the GHC 7,000 he intended to use for the wedding was missing.
The body has been taken to the morgue, and the police are conducting further investigations.
