The members of Asanteman council headed by the Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II have overwhelmingly voted in support of the former boss GNPC Dr. Kofi Koduah Sarpong as a royal son of Ashirem family of the offinso royal stool.
According to a five member committee , The family head (Abusuapanin) of Ashirem has proven enough to the committee set up by Otumfour to look into the matter after a petition was sent to the council to reject the nominee Dr.Kk Sarpong as a royal member.
A five member committee after inquiries brought a three ,two majority decision in favor of the nominee Dr. KK sarpong and ruled out the petitioners assertion that the nominee is not a true blood of the stool.
The other two committee members expressed doubt about the family tree of both the petitioners and Dr. Kodua with his Family head.
The committee report brought before the Asanteman council witnessed an overwhelming endorsement.Twenty one (21) of the chiefs voted in support of the majority decision by the committee whilst four (4) of them agreed with the minority on the committee .
The overlord of the Ashanti kingdom who saw the need to go further into the matter has adjourned the final verdict to set the recolookon Thursday 20th October 2022.
He has urged both parties to exercise patience to bring out the truth of the matter for peace .
