The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has cautioned Ghanaians against voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Speaking at a rally in Nalerigu, the North East Regional capital, he argued that electing Dr. Bawumia would effectively grant President Nana Akufo-Addo a third term.
Asiedu Nketiah accused the President of using Dr. Bawumia as a conduit to fulfill what he described as an “Akyem agenda.” He emphasized that voting for the NPP’s candidate would merely extend the policies and governance style of the current administration, which he claimed had brought hardship to Ghanaians.
The NDC chairman also alleged that the NPP lacks genuine intent to ensure Dr. Bawumia assumes the presidency, suggesting internal divisions within the ruling party. He urged voters to critically evaluate their choices, stressing the need for change by electing John Dramani Mahama and NDC parliamentary candidates.
On his campaign tour of the North East Region, Asiedu Nketiah visited the Chereponi, Yunyoo, and Nalerigu-Gambaga constituencies. He encouraged constituents to vote massively for the NDC to restore progress and alleviate the challenges they currently face.
