Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has committed to making agriculture his top priority if elected President in the 2024 general elections.
He emphasized the importance of agriculture to Ghana’s economy and promised comprehensive support for farmers.
Dr. Bawumia plans to collaborate with Brazil and China to bring their successful agricultural practices and advanced technologies to Ghana. This partnership aims to boost crop productivity and promote sustainable agricultural growth.
Additionally, he proposed establishing District Agricultural Mechanization centers in all farming districts.
These centers will offer affordable access to essential farming equipment, helping to increase agricultural production and efficiency.
He made these pledges during a visit to Sandem-Nab, Nab Azaksuk Azantilow, the Paramount Chief of the Builsa Traditional Area in the Upper East Region, as part of his campaign tour.
Dr. Bawumia’s focus on agriculture reflects his strategic approach to economic development and food security.
