The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced a nationwide strike action, effective Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
The decision comes in response to the government’s failure to implement a new salary structure for its members.
In a statement issued by CLOGSAG, the association referenced a previous letter dated June 21, 2024, which outlined their intention to strike if the new salary structure was not put into effect.
“In consonance with our letter number BA/15/VOL.2 dated 21st June, 2024 indicating our intention to proceed on nation-wide strike if the new salary structure for the staff of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana is not implemented, we hereby DECLARE a Nationwide Strike with effect from Wednesday, 3RD July 2024,” the statement read.
The strike action will affect civil and local government services across the country, potentially disrupting various administrative functions. CLOGSAG members are urging the government to address their demands promptly to avoid prolonged disruption.
As the strike commences, the association hopes for swift negotiations and resolutions to ensure that the new salary structure is implemented, providing fair and adequate compensation for its members.
