The Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency, Hon. Frank Aseidu-Bekoe, popularly known as “Protozoa,” has urged drivers across the country not to charge passengers unapproved fares during the festive season.
According to him, some drivers take advantage of occasions like Christmas to demand fares that are not approved by the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU).
The Suhum legislator, however, blamed the 1 cedi levy on fuel introduced under President Mahama’s government for the increased transport cost. He urged drivers to consider the economic hardships faced by ordinary citizens and charge only normal fares.
Aseidu-Bekoe made the remarks during an interview with Angel News. He also urged Ghanaians to be vigilant about cybersecurity during the festive season and advised the youth to desist from cybercrime, encouraging them instead to engage in meaningful activities.
