Four individuals reportedly associated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been arrested at the Royal N Hotel in Pokuase after they were found in possession of various electoral materials.
The suspects had thumb-printed ballot papers supporting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as well as cash, biometric verification devices (BVDs), a printer, and other materials used in the voting process.
The arrest was made by the youth of Pokuase after they received a tip-off and discovered the items in the suspects’ possession. The materials included ballots pre-marked for the NPP presidential and parliamentary candidates.
The individuals were promptly detained by law enforcement, and investigations are ongoing to determine their intent and how they came to possess the electoral materials. The police are focusing on ensuring that no further attempts to manipulate the election take place.
