Ghanaian Players Score & Make History Before 2022 Ended In European Leagues

Eddie Nketiah
  • Eddie Nketiah: The English-born Ghanaian forward Eddie Nketiah scored for the second game running as Arsenal defeated Brighton and Hove Albion at Amex Park. The 23-year-old, who scored on Boxing Day against West Ham, finished the year in style with a fine strike for Arsenal in their 4-2 win on the road.

Nketiah was making his second start in the English Premier League following an injury to Brazilian attacker Gabriel Jesus. The Gunners are on top of the English Premier league table.

 

Jordan Ayew
  • Jordan Ayew: The Black Star forward netted his first goal of the season for Crystal Palace as the Eagles cruised to a comfortable victory at the Vitality Stadium. The Ghanaian star put got his target in the 19th minute of the game against A.F.C. Bournemouth

            “That is my favourite position. I keep on changing but the manager decides where he wants to put me. Anywhere he puts me I give my best,” he told Crystal Palace TV after the game.

 

Emmanuel Gyasi
  •  Emmanuel Gyasi: Ghana forward Emmanuel Gyasi scored a hat-trick in Spezia’s preparatory game against the primavera side. Gyasi netted three times with Daniele Maldini and Bastoni adding a brace each and strikes from Hristov and Strelec sealing them a big win against the primavera side. Gyasi and his Serie A side are preparing ahead of the return of the Italian topflight next month.

 

 

Inaki Williams
  • Inaki Williams: Ghana forward Inaki Williams breaks La Liga records of Real Madrid legends. Black Stars forward Inaki Williams has become the first player to play all La Liga games for six consecutive years. Williams breaks the record set by Real Madrid legends Ipiña and Alberto Di Stéfano, who played every single La Liga game for five successive years, from 1955 to 1960.

       The Ghana international set a new record after featuring in Athletic Bilbao’s final game of the year against Real Betis in a La Liga fixture.

  • Thomas Partey: The Black Stars’ midfielder ended the year with the goal of the year honour at Arsenal. His sensational strike against Tottenham in the English Premier League was voted by fans of Arsenal as their goal of the year. Partey received 51% of the votes to beat Granit Xhaka’s goal against Manchester United.
