Fast-rising Ghanaian rapper, V12 Origenator, has strongly refuted allegations that he sampled iconic rapper Michael Owusu Addo, better known as Sarkodie’s hit song, “You Go Kill Me,” for his new track, One Night.
“You Go Kill Me,” a collaboration with EL and a major force in the Azonto music revolution, was produced by KillBeatz in 2012.
The controversy began shortly after V12 Origenator released “One Night” on Friday, July 25, 2025.
Some music experts have been quick to suggest that V12 Origenator borrowed elements from Sarkodie’s classic, which is featured on the rapper’s Rapperholic album.
Speaking on Hot 93.9FM’s mid-morning show ‘Ay3 Hu,’ V12 Originator expressed his disbelief at the allegations.
“I’m amazed people are saying I sampled Sarkodie’s ‘You Go Kill Me’…My ‘One Night’ song is an entirely different style.”The “One Night” rapper explained that while he likes Sarkodie, he does not draw inspiration from any Ghanaian artiste when writing his songs.
V12 Origenator urged his critics to focus their energy on supporting hardworking new artistes like him instead of demoralising them with negative and unnecessary comparisons..
Classically engineered by Pizaaro Beatz, ‘One Night’ explores the complex theme of men’s desires and provides a deeper understanding of human emotions through music.
The visuals of the song [One Night] will be dropped on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Listen to both songs and compare them.
