Daniel Tuffour, a final-year student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has been remanded for a second time by the court over his alleged involvement in the tragic death of his girlfriend, Joana Deladem Yabani.
At his latest court appearance, held on March 17, 2025, the prosecutor told the court that the case docket had been forwarded to the Attorney-General’s office for advice. As a result, the court granted the prosecution’s request to keep Tuffour in custody while the legal process continues.
The case has now been adjourned to April 1, 2025, when the Attorney-General’s advice is expected to guide the next steps.
According to reports, CCTV footage captured a man, believed to be Tuffour, allegedly strangling her following a heated argument. He was arrested hours after the incident and first appeared in court on February 28, 2025, where he was initially remanded for two weeks.
As the case continues to unfold, the Attorney-General’s review of the docket will determine the next legal actions. Authorities say they are committed to a thorough and fair investigation to ensure justice is served.
