The Member of Parliament for Kwadaso Constituency, Kingsley Nyarko, has expressed dissatisfaction with a letter written by the Clerk of Parliament to the Electoral Commission indicating that a vacancy had been occasioned in Parliament.
Speaking to journalists in Parliament, Nyarko said the Majority side strongly disagreed with the letter and protested against it, a development he said led to the scenes witnessed on the floor of the House.
He said the Minority may feel they were unfairly treated or that justice was not served, but insisted that the High Court’s ruling was flawed and contrary to the rule of law. According to him, he has always believed that the Supreme Court would allow justice to prevail.
The Kwadaso MP expressed confidence that the Supreme Court would examine the facts of the case and rule in favour of Matthew Nyindam, adding that the current suspension is part of the judicial process and that the final outcome would uphold justice and constitutional order.
