John Dramani Mahama, the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has vowed to create more job opportunities for Ghanaians, particularly the youth, if he wins the December 7 general elections.
During a campaign tour in the Volta Region, he assured the people of Hohoe that his administration would prioritize employment while continuing to develop infrastructure.
Reflecting on his first term as president, Mahama highlighted his government’s achievements in infrastructure development, including the construction of hospitals, roads, schools, and interchanges.
He emphasized that while his new administration would build on this progress, the focus would shift toward generating enough jobs to tackle the rising unemployment in the country.
Mahama also introduced the concept of a “24-Hour Economy” aimed at driving employment growth, particularly in regions with high unemployment. He promised that this initiative would create opportunities for the youth and help alleviate the job crisis.
In addition to his economic pledges, Mahama committed to completing the unfinished roads in Hohoe, which had been abandoned by the current administration, and upgrading the local clinic in Hohoe Adabraka to a polyclinic.
