Missing Children Ghana (MCG), a not-for-profit organization focused on reuniting missing children with their families, has appointed Dr. Dzifa A. Attah, a clinical psychologist, and Dr. Patience Ashorkor Quaye, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, to enhance its efforts.
The announcement was made during the 2024 International Missing Children’s Day event in Accra.
Regina Asamoah, the Founder of MCG, highlighted that these additions
signify a major step forward.
“Their combined expertise in mental health and child protection will provide comprehensive support to traumatized families,” she said.
Asamoah emphasized the importance of these appointments, especially with the upcoming elections, a period when cases of missing children
often increase.
The expertise of Dr. Attah and Dr. Quaye is expected to significantly aid MCG’s mission.
“Now, with these distinguished Fellows on board, Missing Children Ghana reaffirms its commitment to creating a safer and more just world for all, especially during this election season,” Asamoah noted.
She also expressed gratitude to MCG’s partners, including the Ghana Italian Women Association (GIWA), IPMC Ghana, Family Based Care Alliance (FaBCA), the Ghana Police Service, Department of Social Welfare, Residential Homes for Children, Africa Missing Children Network, International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC), and Accra Marriott Hotel, for their continued support.
Asamoah called on corporate Ghana and all citizens to support the organization’s mission of reuniting missing children with their families.
