Walid Regraguis’s Morocco had defeated Belgium, Spain and Portugal en route to the last four after a strong defensive performance, but France proved too much for the North African side.
That Morocco is the first African team to reach the semi-final, they will now be taking another shot at history when they play the third-place final with Croatia on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the battle for the ultimate prize will see France locking horns with Argentina on Sunday.
