In a much-anticipated event, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as NAPO, is set to be officially introduced as the running mate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate.
The unveiling will take place today in Kumasi, a key stronghold for the NPP.
The formal endorsement of NAPO by the NPP’s National Council on July 5 has generated significant excitement among party members and supporters.
Francis Adomako, the Ashanti Regional Organiser of the NPP, mentioned that the region is eagerly awaiting this event, which marks a crucial step towards the 2024 general elections.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has also expressed his confidence in the Bawumia-NAPO duo’s potential to secure a victory.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh has expressed his gratitude to Dr. Bawumia for the trust placed in him.
In his statement, NAPO pledged to work tirelessly alongside Dr. Bawumia to ensure a resounding victory for the NPP in the upcoming elections. “I am committed to our shared vision and will give my all to serve the party and the nation,” he affirmed.
With the Manhyia South Parliamentary seat now vacant following NAPO’s elevation, the party has opened nominations and promised a free and fair electoral process for prospective aspirants.
