For their noteworthy contribution, that have shaped the national theatre and its residence companies success over the years , the National Theatre of Ghana celebrated its renowned retired members of staff and resident groups , the National Dance company, National Drama and the National symphony orchestra.
The retirees received citations, and other gift items as tokens of appreciation for their dedication.
As part of the six – day festival that features a variety of activities designed to cerebrate and to promote the performing arts in Ghana , a special evening (23rd of September, 2025) was set to celebrate the legacies of past staff who have significantly impacted the National Theatre’s growth and success.

Guests honored included hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, currently the member of parliament for Ketu south constituency, and substantive Minister of tourism, culture and Creative Arts ( MoTCCA ) ,Madam Amarteorkor Amarteifio, an artistic director in charge of operation and programmes , and currently the board chair of the National Theatre, Madam Aku Dzifa Florence Glikpoe, a former artistic director for the National Dance company. Other members included Mr Brimah Watara, , Ms Juliana Achampomah Hanson , Mr. Patrick Nana Adu Darku, Mr. Gabiel Joseph Kwesi Willson, just to mention a few.

This event served as a platform to acknowledge the tireless efforts of these individuals in shaping Ghana‘s cultural landscape through their work in theatre, music, and dance.
The Ag. Executive director, Mr. Henry Malm in his speech praised the honorees for their vision, tenacity, and remarkable contributions that has molded the National Theatre into a vibrant cultural institution to day.
He added, “your dedication, passion for the arts, and expertise have inspired generations of artists and audience alike to fellow in your footsteps. Your work has not only reflected Ghanaian culture but also helped to promote it globally.”
The retiree’s expressed their deepest gratitude to the National Theatre for the kind gesture of recognition and appreciation.
