National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has announced that the party will adopt a new campaign strategy ahead of the December polls.
Mr. Nketiah revealed that the NDC will move away from large rallies and instead emphasize more personal engagement with voters.
The party plans to officially launch its campaign in Tamale on Saturday, July 27. Mr. Nketiah explained that the focus will be on door-to-door and retail campaigning to connect with voters directly.
“We want to reach out to the people, house-to-house campaign, retail campaign, that is where the emphasis is going to be,” he stated. “So, what we’re going to do in Tamale is to remind our people that this year, the campaign will be different. We must touch base with the people,” he stated in an interview with Citi News.
Mr. Nketiah highlighted the cost-effectiveness of this approach, noting that it is more affordable for party officials to visit people in their villages than to gather them at central locations for rallies.
“It is cheaper for party functionaries to reach out to the people in the villages than to bring their people to a collation point to address them,” he added.
This shift in strategy reflects the NDC’s commitment to more personalized voter engagement, aiming to build stronger connections with the electorate ahead of the crucial December elections.
