Akwasi Adai Odike, the founder of the Union Government party, has expressed strong support for the idea proposed by the Ghanaians National Alliances to unify all independent political parties under a single banner.
Odike believes that by joining forces, these independent entities can effectively challenge the dominance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Odike emphasized that unity is a powerful tool, and by coming together, the independent parties can break the duopoly that has long controlled Ghanaian politics.
He highlighted his party’s collaboration with Alan Kyeremanten’s Movement for Change to form the Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC), stressing that their union is motivated by national, rather than personal, interests.
He also echoed the call for unity among all independent candidates and parties, urging them to set aside individual ambitions for the greater good of the nation.
According to Odike, the NDC and NPP have consistently prioritized their personal agendas over national welfare, making it essential for a united front to emerge and offer a true alternative to the people of Ghana.
As part of his appeal, Mr. Odike urged all independent parties to come together and work towards eliminating the two-party system in Ghana, which he believes is detrimental to the country’s progress and development.
