The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that parts of Greater Accra, Tema, Ashanti, and Volta Regions will experience temporary power outages on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, due to scheduled maintenance works aimed at improving electricity service.
In a series of public notices, ECG stated that the outages will mostly occur between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., although some areas in the Tema and Ashanti Regions will have power restored by 4:00 p.m.
In Greater Accra, affected communities include Tuba, Kokrobite, Old Bortianor, SCC, Alajo, Tesano, East Legon Hills, and Ashiyie, among others. Tema Region residents in areas such as Don Bosco, Sebrepor, Miotso, and Prampram will also be affected.
Ashanti Region communities like Trede, Pakyi, Ohwim, and Buoho will experience the outage, while in the Volta Region, places such as Tanyigbe and the 66 Artillery Training Centre will be impacted.
ECG has apologised for the inconvenience and urged residents to bear with them as they work to enhance power supply reliability. The company also cautioned the public to treat all electrical lines as live during the period to prevent electrical hazards.
