The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of three individuals by suspect Osman Majeed in Barniekrom, near Mankranso in the Ashanti Region.
According to a statement by the police, the incident occurred on July 2, 2024.
“Police today, 2nd July 2024, received information to the effect that the suspect had shot three people claiming they were part of a group that had come to attack him.”
Upon arriving at the scene, the police team discovered the bodies of the three deceased individuals and transported them to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
During the investigation, authorities recovered several exhibits, including one motorbike, eight spent cartridges, and four cutlasses. The suspect, Osman Majeed, remains at large, and efforts are currently underway to locate him.
“We wish to urge members of the community to remain calm as the investigation into the incident continues to get the perpetrator arrested to face justice,” the police statement concluded.
