The Ghana Police Service has invited Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known as A-Plus, to aid in the ongoing investigation into the death of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale.
This invitation comes after A-Plus made recent claims on social media, asserting that he possesses crucial information regarding the case.
In a Facebook live session, A-Plus declared that he knew the identities of those responsible for Ahmed Suale’s murder.
He expressed his willingness to substantiate his claims if required. A-Plus, who is an independent parliamentary candidate for Gomoa Central, has been vocal about his knowledge of the case and readiness to assist the authorities.
The police statement highlighted that the Cold Case Unit, established in October 2021 under the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, has been diligently working on the investigation and maintaining close communication with the deceased’s family.
The statement noted, “The Police is therefore pleased that Mr. Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus) has given indication that he has some information that could assist the ongoing investigation, and he has been invited accordingly.”
This development marks a significant step in the investigation into Ahmed Suale’s death, with the police hopeful that A-Plus’s information will shed new light on the case and potentially lead to identifying the perpetrators.
