Member of Parliament (MP) for Suhum in the Eastern Region, Kwadwo Asante, has presented 23 taxi-cabs to drivers in the area in a bid to empower them.
The cabs presented to the constituents by the MP are to assist them in making life a bit easier through work and pay.
According to him, his success during the 2020 election was a result of the massive support he received from drivers, hence the decision to empower them.
During the presentation at Suhum-Boyefitter, he disclosed that he has great intention to empower hairdressers, seamstresses, caterers, and many others if only they are ready to take the mantle in making life much easier for themselves.
Mr Asante emphasized that the donation isn’t based on party affiliations and that he has been doing this before venturing into politics.
He said, the rationale behind was to help the youth to have a better living and nothing else.
He advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the cars and also ensure they maintain them so they can last for a long period.
He called on them to be law-abiding by dressing on the spot rather than dressing anyhow whiles at work.
Some drivers who received the cars expressed their gratitude to the MP and have promised to make good use of them.
“We are surprised about what our MP is doing because such benevolence hasn’t happened in our constituency in a long while. So far Kwadwo Asante is doing extremely well for the youth and we are proud of him,” one driver said.
“We promised to pay back so the younger generation can also benefit from it. We pray his work continues to flourish for him so we can always benefit from him” another driver asserted.
