The Champion of Champions match – Ghana’s version of the Super Cup – between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been moved back a day to Monday, September 5.
The match was initially supposed to be played a day earlier on Sunday, September 4 but had to be edged back due to the second leg of the CHAN qualifier between Ghana and Nigeria, which will be played on Saturday, September 3.
Many players from both clubs are expected to feature in the game.
The Super Cup match, which will be the curtain-raiser for the 2022/23 season, will now be played four days before the first league game.
FA Cup champions, Hearts of Oak will be looking to retain the Super Cup after they were awarded the trophy last season without having to play a game.
The GFA’s rules state that teams that win both the Premier League title and FA Cup are automatically handed the Super Cup.
This year they will have to overcome their fiercest rivals Asante Kotoko, who strolled to the Ghana Premier League title last season.
