The Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Board has addressed an omission in its nominations following a one-week review period.
A petition alerted the board that Kuami Eugene co-wrote Okyeame Kwame’s “No Competition,” initially credited solely to Okyeame Kwame in the Songwriter of the Year category.
The board has since amended the official nominees list to include Kuami Eugene as a co-writer.
The TGMA Board, in a release, reaffirmed its commitment to a fair and transparent awards process.
“The TGMA Board has corrected the song ‘No Competition’ in the Songwriter of the Year category. The song was initially credited only to Okyeame Kwame. However, after review, we confirm that Kuami Eugene was a co-writer. The official nominees list has been updated accordingly,” the release reads.
“No Competition,” produced by Kuami Eugene and MOGBeatz, features both artistes reflecting on their journey to success and asserting their unique positions in the music industry.
