Ghanaian media personality and spoken word artiste Don Kwabena Prah became the talk of the 2025 Ghana Comedy Awards after wowing patrons with a spectacular poetry performance.
Held at the prestigious La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on Saturday, May 25, this year’s event celebrated outstanding contributions to Ghanaian comedy across various categories.
Lexzy De Comic again cemented his place by winning “Comedian of the Year” for the second time.
He stood out among a competitive field of talented performers, earning the admiration of both fans and industry peers.
Fritz Baffour, Clemento Suarez, DKB, and Ras Appiah Levi were among the personalities who presented the awards.
One of the most memorable moments of the much-attended event was Don Kwabena Prah’s enchanting the auditorium with his spectacular poetry.

Known for mesmerising his audience with philosophically refined poems, Don Kwabena Prah, clad in resplendent African apparel that whispered Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, exuded an aura of quiet confidence.
As his poem flowed, a transformation unfolded among the patrons. Initially composed, a hint of a smile tugged at the corner of their lips.
His lines, imbued with Ghana’s essence, reverberated with patrons to their core.
The popular poet, also the host of the Hot Morning Drive show on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM, reached his crescendo, leaving a profound silence in its wake with the line: “The children are dying, mothers are crying, fathers are running…we need to stop the world from burning.”
The entire auditorium erupted in applause. It was a dazzling display of Ghanaian poetry.
