Before a musician from a different country, especially from our part of the world(Africa) could make it in an European country like Turkey, then that artist may be possessing immense musical prowess.
Currently, when mentioning names of Ghanaian artistes who are really making it internationally ,never can any one omits names like, multiple award-winning dancehall artistes, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale, rapper Sarkodie and Highlife/hiplife artistes, Kidi and Kuami Eugene .
But despite all these artists, the Ghanaian artist who is really raising the flag of the nation in Turkey is Afro-pop star Marcos LeeGH.
Known in real life as Nii Akoto , Marcos LeeGH who was born into a muslim family in 1978 and grew up at Lartebiokoshie in Accra, started his career as a dancer at the age of 7.
He started his professional dancing in 1999 -where he danced for legendary Ghanaian musicians such as Slim Busterr, Kojo Antwi, Tic Tac now Tic and Kaakyire Kwame-Appiah. On the road to a blistering music career, Marcos LeeGH was motivated by popular hiplife group FBS.
The Famous FBS music group motivation paid dividends as he released his own song titled Aisha in 2005. After releasing Aisha, he had the chance to further his career in music by traveling to Turkey -where he dropped his biggest hit song ‘Chioma’.
In 2019, Marcos LeeGH, became the only Ghanaian artist who was billed to perform in one of the biggest night clubs in Turkey by name Afro Club. He performed alongside celebrated artistes from Nigeria; Skibi ,Flavour and Techno.
Due to his magnificent performance, he was sponsored by many event organisers to hold his own concert in 2020. The concert, which took place at the Afro Club at Instanbul ,Turkey with over thousand Five hundred patrons in attendance saw the ‘Chioma’ hitmaker again make history as the first Ghanaian musician to fill a night club in Turkey
The over one hour long performance saw Marcos LeeGh performing most of his great hits . The show was hosted by DJ Dotcom, with help from DJ Franky J and DJ DK.
Apart from performing at Afro -Club , he has also performed at Titanic Hotel (Antalya,) , Kuromar hotel (Kusadasi), Kusadasi Bar among others.
