The Chief of Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, has assured Ghanaians that the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) will act professionally to guarantee peace and stability during the upcoming December elections.

He emphasized the GAF’s commitment to maintaining order throughout the election period.

Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah highlighted that the GAF, in collaboration with other security agencies, will ensure that Ghana’s borders are secure from any external threats.

This concerted effort aims to create a safe environment for the electoral process.

During a meeting with the National Chief Imam Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah reiterated that the GAF is dedicated to safeguarding peace before, during, and after the elections.

His assurances underscore the importance of a stable and secure election period for the country.

He also stressed the GAF’s commitment to upholding professionalism and neutrality during this critical time. This stance is crucial in maintaining public trust and confidence in the security forces as they oversee the electoral process.

Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah’s remarks come at a pivotal moment as the nation prepares for the December polls.
