The running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has underscored the importance of empowering women through financial support and skill training to enhance their contributions to the local economy.
Addressing traders at the Madina Market in Accra, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that the NDC will prioritize women’s empowerment if elected.
“Women have the potential to significantly grow the local economy when given the necessary support,” she stated.
“The next NDC government will ensure that women are adequately resourced both financially and through skills training for national development.”
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged the traders to support the NDC in the upcoming December polls, promising that the party’s policies will transform the Ghanaian economy and bring relief to the people.
“Do not disappoint the NDC; vote massively for the party to implement its life-changing policies,” she urged.
In a gesture of support, the NDC donated 50,000 cedis to assist victims of a recent market fire that destroyed numerous stores at Madina Market.
This donation aims to help the affected traders rebuild their businesses and livelihoods.
