Legendary Kumawood actor Alexander Kofi Adu, popularly known in the Ghanaian movie industry as Agya Koo, has reacted to claims that he financed his newly acquired mansion from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Earlier in 2023, it would be recalled that the known comic entertainer, marked his 54th birthday with an unveiling of a new plush mansion located in Kwadaso Denkyemuoso, Kumasi.
Most Ghanaians reacted to the grand opening of the mansion.
While others commended one of the greatest actors of Kumawood, most nationals accused him of benefiting from the alleged corruption of the NPP government.
Responding to claims on the ‘Legends Corner’ aired on Kumasi-based Fox 97.9 FM, Agya refuted allegations that his newly acquired mansion was a political gain.
Empathizing with netizens, Agya Koo stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led administration by Nana Akufo-Addo Dankwa will never give you money for personal gains.
”NPP? NPP Will never give you money to build a home……… If you go to Oluman, if you go to Akufo-Addo… I do not know what has caused these recent economic woes… He is always talking about the good things he wants to do for Ghana……, Agya Koo stated on Fox FM.”
Based on the unprecedented precarious economic hardships by the Mahama-led administration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Agya Koo declared his support for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2016 General Elections.
Agya Koo was a spearhead in conveying the Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong to become the flagbearer of the NPP ahead of the 2024 General Elections.
