Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame has announced plans to take the recent Court of Appeal decision to the Supreme Court following the acquittal of Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson in the ongoing ambulance case.

This move comes after the Court of Appeal overturned a high court order requiring Dr. Forson to stand trial.

On Tuesday, July 30, the Court of Appeal discharged Dr. Forson, reversing Justice Afia Serwaa Asare Botwe’s high court directive that had previously mandated his prosecution.

The appellate court’s decision affirmed Dr. Forson’s position that he had no case to answer, thereby exonerating him and Richard Jakpa, a representative of Big Sea Company, from accusations of causing financial loss to the state.

Expressing his determination to challenge the ruling, Attorney General Dame told Joy FM that he would not allow the Court of Appeal’s decision to stand without contest.

“We will go to the Supreme Court,” Dame remarked, emphasizing his resolve to seek further judicial review.

In response, Dr. Forson’s lawyer, Edudzi Tamakloe, expressed confidence in their ability to defend against any actions the Attorney General might pursue.

“We are ready for whatever the Attorney General wants to do,” Tamakloe affirmed, highlighting their preparedness to provide a robust defense should the case advance to the Supreme Court.
