On July 6, 2024, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Ghanaian football legend Asamoah ‘Baby Jet’ Gyan launched the All-Regional Games 2024 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, aims to revive grassroots sports across all 16 regions of Ghana.
Dr. Bawumia highlighted the significance of the championship, emphasizing that it represents a crucial step in the collective effort to rejuvenate sports at the grassroots level. He noted that sports have always served as a unifying force, capable of transcending barriers and bringing people together.
In his remarks, Dr. Bawumia stated, “Together, we can harness the power of sports to build a stronger, more united Ghana. Let us support the All-Regional Games and all similar initiatives that aim to uplift our youth and promote national pride.”
The All-Regional Games 2024, spanning several sporting disciplines, is expected to foster a renewed interest in sports among the youth and cultivate national pride through athletic excellence.
