The national 3rd vice chairperson of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Masawudu Osman, has asserted that the recently elected Flagbearer of the party, Dr Mahumudu Bawumia, should have declared his internal opponent as his running mate for the 2024 General Elections.
The National Executive member of the NPP acknowledged that the duo in teamwork would make the ‘breaking of the 8’ for the ruling government facile.
Speaking on the hot morning drive show aired on Hot 93.9 FM, Alhaji Maswudu empathically stated that if he were to be the vice president at that very moment, he would have mentioned Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong as his running mate for the 2024 General Elections.
”I am stating that if I were to be the Vice President on that very day, I would have declared Kennedy Ohene Agyapong as my running mate, Alhaji Masawudu stated on the hottest morning show in the capital city.”
The vice president who emerged as the winner of the November 4th Contest was given a showdown by his immediate opponent on the running ticket of the NPP, Kennedy Agyapong by counts.
Elections analysts, researchers, and other projected polls predicted an over 80 percent vote count for Dr Bawumia before the elections.
However, he was declared the winner with 61.43 percent of voters share while Kennedy had 37.41 percent, a shocker in the history of previous polls in the party.
Also, candidates at the poll, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto came third with 0.76 percent while Francis Addai Nimoh was last with 0.41 percent.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Masawudu is one of the ten executives elected on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Accra Stadium to lead work assiduously in attaining power after the 2024 elections.
