The Head of Communications of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has revealed that an online betting company Betpawa has direct contact with football players participating in the nation’s premier league for Mobile Money(MoMo) payment in promotions and locker room bonus.
”Players of clubs have been receiving locker room bonuses after every match day with the exception of Asante Kotoko who did not subscribe”, Henry disclosed via Kessben Sports.
According to the GFA appointee, Kumasi-based football club Asante Kotoko is the only club not benefiting from the monetary brouhaha at the moment.
However, the Management of the Porcupine Warriors has alleged to Betpawa that, the money should be put together and given to them at once.
”They told Betpawa that the money should be put together and given to them at once
They said they will not give the MoMo numbers of their players to Betpawa”, the GFA appointee stated.
Also, the Kumasi club did not want the betting company to have direct contact with its signees.
”They stressed that they do not want Betpawa to deal with the players directly”, Henry Asante said.
Betpawa is the official headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League.
