Nana Kwame Danquah (NKD) a former managing board member of Kumasi-based Football Club, Asante Kotoko, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Ministry of Youth and Sports for allegedly being the prime cause of the robbery attack on Ghana nationals who were to participate in a wheelchair competition.
The Ghana Wheel Chair National Team were attacked and robbed of their valuable items in Nigeria on Tuesday.
Despite efforts to escape, the robbers managed to break the windscreen of the vehicle to make away with some of their valuable items.
According to NKD, the incident would have been prevented if the Ministry had treated the Wheel Chair team with respect and dignity. He further explained empathically that booking flights would have also stopped robbery attacks.
“When the Black Stars are travelling, look at the number of officials who are been flown…… This is also a national team who are physically challenged……. Did the robbers attack them on the plane?… No, this means they were transported to Nigeria by road”… NKD fumes on the focal sports show aired on HOt 93.9 FM.
Speaking to the host St Jude on the ‘wu hao ni sɛn’ (What’s your problem) segment on Hot Focal Sports aired on Hot 93.9 FM, NKD further stated that it is a disgrace as a country for the Ministry to make such a statement when they had options to prevent this.
Nana Kwame Danquah is the Vice Chairman of the National Circles Council, Asante Kotoko SC.
