Cape Coast North Member of Parliament (MP), Kwamena Minta Nyarku, says he is fully committed to creating job opportunities for young people in his constituency, at a time when unemployment continues to burden MPs across the country and remains one of Ghana’s biggest challenges.
Speaking to Hot FM’s parliamentary correspondent, Bonohemaa Serwaa Boakye Agyeman, Dr. Minta Nyarku explained that his priority is to ensure that residents, especially the youth, secure decent jobs that allow them to support themselves and their families. He noted that unemployment is a nationwide problem, and Cape Coast North is no exception.
He revealed that his office has already supported many constituents by providing them with employable skills in sewing, carpentry, construction, football and other vocational areas. According to him, individuals who required assistance to further their education — whether in Ghana or abroad — have received the needed financial support or scholarships.
Addressing the persistent water challenges in Cape Coast, which have been worsened by galamsey activities, Dr. Minta Nyarku said the situation has become “a bit okay” compared to previous months.
He explained that while Ghana Water Limited continues to work through its operational difficulties, he has personally constructed boreholes in affected communities to offer temporary relief to households struggling with access to clean water.
