The leadership of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has issued a stern warning against any unlawful attempts to freeze its members’ salaries, vowing to intensify their indefinite strike until the arbitral award and negotiated service conditions are fully implemented.
CETAG maintains that their strike, which commenced in June, is legal and has accused the National Labour Commission of spreading misinformation regarding their actions.
As a result, academic activities at Colleges of Education nationwide have been brought to a standstill.
During a press conference in Kumasi, CETAG President Prince Obeng-Himang declared that members would continue their strike until all their demands are met.
He further cautioned that any illegal salary freezes would prompt legal action, underscoring the legitimacy of their response to the government’s delayed implementation of the agreed-upon terms.
