A family member of deceased soldier Private Imoro who was murdered in Ashaiman, Ahmed Abdul Rahman has stated that the troop was the only pillar of the family.
In an interview with the family member on Hotfm’s mid-morning show, Ahmed narrated how the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr George Akuffo Dampare and his team officially informed the family of arresting the suspected murderers of the death of their relative(Private Imoro).
”We were at home yesterday around 4 pm when Tema Regional Commander and Ashaiman District Police Commander came to our home with their team to express their condolences to represent the Inspector General of Police(IGP)”, the uncle stated.
According to the relative of the deceased troop, the Police Service were also there to officially inform them of the arrest of the six suspected murders of their relatives amidst expressing their condolences.
”We have in hands the suspected murderers in custody, from the phone snatchers to the one who held the knife”, the Tema Regional Police Commander stated according to the family of the deceased.
In a phone interview on the Aye Hu show aired on Hot 93.9 FM, responding to a question by the host on being content with the police report, Ahmed the uncle asserted that Private Imoro was the only pillar of the family while he thanked the IGP for his hard work done.
Meanwhile, Ahmed has claimed that he had not seen any images of the suspected murders despite the Police Service’s official statement by the IGP and his team.
”Officially, we have not seen the photos of the suspects, we live close to a police barracks and it was this morning a police friend came to read the statements to us”, the relative of the troop stated.
Additionally, the family of the deceased have stated that they have not been informed of court proceedings yet.
Private Imoro Sherrif was found dead at Taifa Ashiaman on 4th March 2023.
