Francesco Totti has claimed his wife cheated on him, with the Roma icon also revealing he’s suffering from depression. The former Italy international is regarded as one of his nation’s best-ever players, having spent 24 years playing at the highest level.
He has now opened up on the issues he has faced since hanging up his boots in 2017.
Totti married Ilary Blasi in 2005, having started dating in 2002, and splitting earlier this year.
In an interview with Corriere Della Sera, the former Italy star has now claimed that his wife cheated on him and revealed that he is depressed. After 20 years into their marriage, Francesco Totti checked his wife’s phone for the first time, and that was the beginning of the end of their marriage. He saw that she was cheating on him with her personal trainer.
He also suffered the pain of losing his father to Covid in October 2020 after hanging his boots in 2017.
Totti said: “I have lived through a difficult period, first because I stopped playing and then my father died due to Covid.
“I also had a strong Covid for 15 days. However, my wife was not available when I needed her most.
