Drivers using the Nkawkaw to Kwahu Adawso road have expressed their frustration with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led government for neglecting the construction of a crucial drainage system on the road leading to Adawso in the Kwahu South Municipality, Eastern Region.
They allege that the incomplete project has left them vulnerable to frequent attacks by armed robbers on the detour road they are forced to use.
Speaking to some affected drivers, they highlighted how the situation has negatively impacted their daily lives and livelihoods. The constant threat of armed robberies on the diverted route has created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity, further exacerbating their struggles.
The drivers also pointed fingers at the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwahu South Municipal, Emmanuel Atta Ofori Snr, accusing him of failing to address the issue.
Despite numerous promises over the years, the DCE has yet to take action to repair the road and complete the drainage system, leaving the community in disrepair and frustration.
