The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has revealed plans for a limited recruitment of teachers into Senior High Schools, set to begin next week.
In a Facebook post dated July 30, Dr. Adutwum shared that the Ministry of Education will soon provide details on the application process and the specific areas of focus for this recruitment exercise.
“I’m pleased to announce that a limited recruitment drive for high school teachers will commence next week. Stay tuned for more details on how to apply and the specific areas of focus for this recruitment,” the Minister wrote in his announcement.
This development follows the recent announcement by the Ministry of Health (MoH) regarding the recruitment of 15,200 nurses and midwives.
The MoH, in a statement on July 26, confirmed that financial clearance has been granted by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) for the recruitment process, which will start on Monday, August 5, 2024.
Qualified candidates for the MoH recruitment are required to apply through the Ministry’s online portal by Friday, August 23, 2024.
The MoH has also emphasized that the recruitment process is free and cautioned applicants against paying fees to any individuals or entities claiming to facilitate the process.
Meanwhile, the Minority in Parliament believes that the decision to recruit Nurses and Midwives is political and a move to garner votes.
