The former president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has weighed in on the debate over whether or not Otto Addo should be in charge of the Black Stars in the next World Cup in Qatar.
The former coach of the Ghana Football Association has said that Otto Addo should be decisive and use professional judgment while judging the coaching position for the Black Stars.
“Otto Addo should be the man of his own and should not base his judgments only on the views of others,” he said King Halid of KingsTvGh.
It is the belief we have in him that is why we have entrusted the team into his care,
You can neither tell your lawyer to ask certain questions for you at the law court nor prescribe a medicine for your doctor to give you when you are ill”.
“He will have no reason to remain at the post when he allows to be dictated to. If we feel Otto Addo will do well at the World Cup, we should rally behind him”, Nyantakyi said.
Following Ghana’s lacklustre showings against Brazil and Nicaragua in preparation for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Otto Addo has received significant criticism.
There are now 46 days till the start of the World Cup, and Ghanaians have widely varying ideas on who should lead the Ghana Black Stars.
Many Ghanaian football fans are pulling for Chris Hughton, while others are sticking with the coach who led the nation to its fourth World Cup.
