The Ghana Insurers Association has donated items worth thousands of cedis to the Mampong School for the Deaf in the Eastern Region.
This donation was part of the activities celebrating Insurance Industry Awareness Month.
Items donated included dual desks, toilet tissue, cooking oil, milk, bags of maize, and other food items. The donation is part of the Association’s annual social responsibilities, aiming to bring joy to various community members.
The month-long programme, held under the theme ‘Making Insurance the Ghanaian Way of Life,’ aims to increase public understanding of insurance concepts.
The campaign educates the public on how insurance can mitigate potential risks in their personal and professional lives and emphasizes the importance of financial planning.
During the presentation, Dr. Kingsley Kwesi Kwabahson, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Association, expressed optimism that the donated items would complement government provisions, easing the school’s operations.
“These items are meant to support and enhance the daily activities of the school,” Dr. Kwabahson stated.
The Assistant Headmaster of the Mampong School for the Deaf, Devine Edem Kodadze, expressed profound gratitude to the Insurers Association.
He also appealed to the government and charitable organizations to recognize the school’s unique needs and provide the necessary resources to enhance teaching and learning activities.
