Female high jumpers, Abigail Kwarteng and Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah have qualified to the final of the Women’s High Jump at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Abigail was the best performer in women’s qualifying B and qualified to the final despite not clearing the automatic qualifying height of 1.90m at the Alexander Stadium.
Rose on the other hand recorded a season-best jump of 1:81m to make the semis of the competition.
The duo are expected to compete in the Women’s High Jump final on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Alex Amankwa will compete in the 800m final after qualifying with a time of 1:43:56.
The qualification to the final remains an improvement following Amankwa’s disqualification at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA in July.
Amankwa will be looking forward to win a medal for Ghana on Sunday when he runs in the final.
