Madam Akua Donkor, the presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has sparked controversy with her assertion that members of the Jehovah’s Witness community and others will be excluded from government schools if she wins the upcoming elections.
During her appearance on the Dwene Ho Biom show with Agya Owusu Ansah, Donkor stated that Jehovah’s Witnesses and others would not be permitted to attend government schools.
This assertion has raised significant concerns about the implications for religious freedom and inclusion within the education system.
Meanwhile, Donkor has proposed extending maternity leave for women to one year, emphasizing the importance of allowing new mothers adequate time to bond with their infants and care for their families.
This proposal aims to provide improved support for families and address the challenges faced by nursing mothers in Ghana.
